It aims to support<br \/>\nchildren\u2019s adaptation to a new environment at school. The presentation of the<br \/>\ntextbook was organized by the Education Development and Employment Center<br \/>\n(EDEC) on January 30th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The textbook \u201cStrengthening the transition to<br \/>\nschool for children with special needs\u201d is focused on supporting people working<br \/>\nwith children of special needs. The textbook aims to help the process of<br \/>\ntransition into school. The book is based on the principle of inclusiveness<br \/>\nthat implies equal opportunities to study and develop for all children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The textbook describes successful examples of<br \/>\na child&#8217;s transition at school. While working on the book, the authors investigated<br \/>\nand analyzed the circumstances which hinder the effectiveness of inclusive<br \/>\neducation. They also identified the steps which help schools to involve a child<br \/>\nwith a special need in the learning process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">During the creation of the textbook, ten focus<br \/>\ngroup meetings were held. Parents of children with special needs who receive daycare<br \/>\ncenter and other alternative services participated along with service providers<br \/>\nand representatives of educational institutions. All worked together to<br \/>\nidentify existing challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Representatives of educational institutions<br \/>\nfrom kindergartens, schools, resource centers and other stakeholders involved<br \/>\nin the inclusive education process attended the presentation. The<br \/>\nelectronic version of the textbook will be available for free<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The textbook was created within the framework<br \/>\nof the project &#8220;Equal opportunities of education for children with<br \/>\ndisabilities &#8211; increased accessibility and quality!&#8221; A project summary was<br \/>\nrepresented by Natia Namicheishvili, Executive Director of the Education<br \/>\nDevelopment and Employment Center (EDEC), on January 30th as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&#8220;The project aims to support children<br \/>\nwith disabilities to receive inclusive education. The textbook is a practical<br \/>\nguide to simplify the process of transition to school &#8220;, said Natia<br \/>\nNamicheishvili.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The project was implemented by the Education<br \/>\nDevelopment and Employment Center (EDEC) from April 2018 to January 2019 with<br \/>\nthe financial support of the European Union and the Civil Society Institute.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new textbook has been created for parents and teachers who work with children with special needs.
