On July 9, the regional project hub the organization, the Gori Information Center, organized a Regional Civil Society Forum
\nat the Culture and Recreational Park in Gori, Shida Kartli, to present the
\nactivities of local CSOs and to promote volunteerism. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the event, guests had the chance
\nto get to know the bilateral volunteerism platform \u201cTime Bank” as well as up
\nto 25 local CSOs which work on topics such as support formal and informal
\neducation, strengthening people with disabilities and members of their families,
\nconflict transformation, gender-related issues, advocation of children rights
\nand rural development. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, Goga Aptsiauri, a journalist of
\nRadio Liberty and the speaker at the forum, talked about the importance of
\nvolunteerism. The end of the event was marked by a concert of the local group
\n“Canudos,” which was found 2007\/08 in Gori and plays mainly
\nprogressive modern jazz, and fusion with elements of punk, blues, and soul.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The forum was organized in the frame of the
\nproject \u201dGeorgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative.\u201d It was developed
\nand is implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in
\ncooperation with four Georgian Civil Society Organizations: the Civil Society
\nInstitute (CSI), the Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), the Center for
\nStrategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and the Education
\nDevelopment and Employment Center (EDEC). The initiative is funded by the European
\nUnion and co-funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
