In order to promote civil society
\nactivities in the region, a Volunteer Forum was held in Ozurgeti, Guria, within
\nthe framework of the \u201dGeorgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative\u201d and as
\na part of the local celebration of Europe Day.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of the European
\nUnion to Georgia, visited the Volunteer Forum, joined activities, and learned
\nabout the participating local organizations, which presented their work and
\nservices to their constituencies and potential volunteers. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants also got to know the bilateral
\nvolunteerism platform “Time Bank” and had the opportunity to register
\nright away. Furthermore, Teona Sadradze, Coordinator of EuroClub and the local Student
\nYouth Council project gave a public lecture about the traditions of
\nvolunteering and new opportunities. The film \u201cInitiative is not Punishable,\u201d the
\ninteractive game \u201cCity Games \u2013 Find the Story, Discover Georgia, Discover
\nEurope\u201d and the TimeBank Quiz enjoyed great popularity. The winners of the
\ngames received memorable gifts.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Volunteer Forum was organized by the
\nInnovations and Civic Development Center \u201cProgress House\u201d within the framework
\nof the project \u201dGeorgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative.\u201d It was
\ndeveloped and is implemented by a consortium led by the
\nKonrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with four Georgian Civil Society
\nOrganizations: the Civil Society Institute (CSI), the Center for Training and
\nConsultancy (CTC), the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia
\n(CSRDG) and the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). The initiative
\nis funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
