Currently, the campaign covers 647 pre-selected locations<br \/>\n(cities, villages, regional centers, and settlements) throughout all ten<br \/>\nregions of Georgia. As one of the upcoming actions, 22.500 grocery bags with<br \/>\nimprinted information on preventive measures against the spread of the virus as<br \/>\nwell contact details of relevant institutions such as the Emergency Response<br \/>\nCentre 112, the Public Safety Management Centre, the Ministry of Health, the<br \/>\nNational Centre for Disease Control and the Government\u2019s encompassing 1st-level the hotline, well distributed. They will be handed out free-of-charge by grocery<br \/>\nstores operating in rural communities.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"DE\">Georgian Civil Society Sustainability<br \/>\nInitiative is funded by the European Union (EU) and co-funded by the<br \/>\nKonrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"DE\">With the engagement of project regional hubs,<br \/>\npartnering businesses, the local self-governments, volunteer groups as well as<br \/>\nlocal and international organizations, the campaign aims to inform and update<br \/>\nthe population about measures to protect their health and stay safe. The target<br \/>\npopulation, amongst other residents, includes cross-border regions and remote<br \/>\nvillages, IDPs living in densely populated settlements, the elderly and ethnic<br \/>\nminorities as the risk of quickly spreading misinformation within these groups<br \/>\nand locations is high and likely.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"DE\">\u201cAs the pandemic is a number one topic in the<br \/>\nmedia outlets worldwide, it is worth asking if it is necessary to organize<br \/>\nadditional information campaigns. Our experience firmly shows \u201eYes\u201d as certain<br \/>\ngroups are in need of further informational support. On the one hand, it is<br \/>\nnecessary for people to prevent the spread of the virus, but on the other hand,<br \/>\nand just as important, it is crucial to protect oneself from misinformation.<br \/>\nWithin the next days, grocery packages delivered by the local government to<br \/>\nvulnerable groups will be equipped with special information stickers in<br \/>\nAzerbaijani, Armenian, and Georgian. Within the framework of the same campaign<br \/>\nin cooperation with the local business partners \u201cElva\u201d, LTD \u201cMadliani 1\u201d, LTD<br \/>\n\u201cLeko\u201d, LTD \u201cVasadze Bread\u201d, LTD \u201cKhelvachauri Bread Products\u201d, LTD \u201cNagdi Puri\u201d<br \/>\nand LTD \u201cTsinba\u201d \u2013 highly trustable and socially responsible companies in<br \/>\nImereti, Adjara, Samegrelo, and Guria \u2013 a total of 173.760 loaves of bread with<br \/>\nsuch stickers were already distributed.\u201d- said Lika Kiladze, Chairperson of the<br \/>\nBoard of the Education Development and Employment Center.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"DE\">The project \u201eGeorgian Civil Society<br \/>\nSustainability Initiative\u201d is implemented by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS)<br \/>\nin cooperation with the Civil Society Institute (CSI), the Consultation and<br \/>\nTraining Center (CTC), the Center for Strategic Research and Development of<br \/>\nGeorgia (CSRDG), and the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC).<br \/>\nThe project is funded by the European Union (EU) and co-funded by the<br \/>\nKonrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative continues its awareness-raising campaign to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
