{"id":9904,"date":"2020-07-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-20T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edec.ge\/on-july-21-edec-held-an-online-presentation-of-the-project-curriculum-innovation-for-social-change-cisi\/"},"modified":"2020-12-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T20:00:00","slug":"on-july-21-edec-held-an-online-presentation-of-the-project-curriculum-innovation-for-social-change-cisi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/edec.ge\/en\/on-july-21-edec-held-an-online-presentation-of-the-project-curriculum-innovation-for-social-change-cisi\/","title":{"rendered":"On July 21 EDEC held an online presentation of the Project: \u201cCurriculum Innovation for Social Change\u201d (CISI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On July 21, Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held an online presentation of the Project: \u201cCurriculum Innovation for Social Change\u201d (CISI).<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 6px 0px;\">The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the process of social inclusion of persons with disabilities by increasing the quality of inclusive education at public schools in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 6px 0px;\">Led by Tamar Makhardze, the Project Coordinator, and facilitated by Lika Kiladze, the Chairperson of the Board at the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), the online presentation was attended by the representatives of 30 Georgian universities and vocational schools. Collaboration and adoption of the Project resources were highlighted during the meeting. The universities and the schools expressed high interest and readiness towards the Project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 6px 0px;\">The Project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program. It is coordinated by the Center for Research on Issues of Persons with Disabilities established at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of Ivane Javakishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU). As a result, at the Faculty, 10-11 new academic modules will be introduced, which will help future school teachers to enhance professional competencies in working with students with special educational needs (SEN).<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 6px 0px;\">The new modules are planned to pilot from the spring semester of 2021 in the partner Georgian universities. Meanwhile, Georgian partners will work on the development of the new curriculum and the reading material with the active involvement of foreigners. During 3 years, the Project will support the collaboration of the universities, schools, and non-governmental organizations. The collaboration network will be formed in order to support the development of inclusive education. Within the project, a yearly national conference will be established, which will inform about achievements and challenges in inclusive education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 6px 0px;\">The Project is implemented with the involvement of several partner institutions, among them: 4 Georgian universities &#8211; Ivane Javakishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University (TeSaU), and Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU); 4 foreign universities &#8211; Transilvania University of Bra\u0219ov UTBv, Univerzita Palackeho v Olomouc (PUO), University of Warsaw (UW) and Philipps-Universit\u00e4t Marburg (UMR); 3 NGOs working on the issues of the persons with disabilities &#8211; Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), \u201cMariani \u201c and DPO Movement Accessible Environment for Everyone (MAEE) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia (MoESCS).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On July 21, Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held an online presentation of the Project: \u201cCurriculum Innovation for Social Change\u201d (CISI).
