Together with Vincent Dontot, Country
\nDirector of the Danish Refugee Council in Georgia, EU Ambassador to Georgia
\nCarl Hartzell awarded certificates to the 19 graduates of Zugdidi
\nEntrepreneurial School. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony took place at the wood-processing
\nplant “Madera Georgia,” which the students visited earlier already as
\npart of a study trip. The Director of the company, Beso Matkava, was very glad
\nto host the Ambassador and the graduates. He used the chance to talk about the
\ncurrent situation of the company, its establishment, and their export to the
\nEuropean Union.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The School\u2019s curriculum included amongst others
\nBusiness Management and Planning, Marketing, Fundraising, Financial Management,
\nand legal issues related to Business Administration. Students also received
\nindividual, needs-based consultations and mentorship to improve their business
\nideas, and inspected businesses to learn from successful entrepreneurs.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The Entrepreneurial School is part of the EU-funded
\nproject \u201cEU4Youth \u2013 Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in
\nConflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine.” The initiative aims to
\nwiden education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally
\ndisplaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant
\nparticipation in the community. In Georgia, it is implemented by the Danish
\nRefugee Council (DRC) and the Education Development and Employment Center
\n(EDEC).<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
