In the Culture and Recreational Park in
\nOzurgeti (Guria region), a Regional Civil Society Forum has been organized to present
\nthe activities of local CSOs and to promote volunteerism. Up to ten local CSOs
\nand the representatives of small businesses participated in the forum.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The event was opened by a concert of the children’s
\ngroup “Binuli” and the organizers\u2019 speeches, which underlined the
\nimportance of the forum. Moreover, the most active volunteers in Guria, the
\nmembers of the “Euro Club,” were awarded by representatives of the
\nvolunteering platform TimeBank.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The regional forum also offered a variety
\nof smaller and bigger activities for visitors such as learning about the
\nprocessing and preparation of local teas, as well as making bamboo items; they
\nwere also constantly able to familiarize with the work of local organizations
\nand sign up for volunteering. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

After a presentation of the volunteerism
\nplatform to all on the big stage, the TimeBank tent not only attracted people
\nwith small giveaways but also with a challenging quiz related to the culture of
\nvolunteering in Georgia.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The forum was organized as part of the
\nproject \u201dGeorgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative.\u201d It was developed
\nand is implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in
\ncooperation with four Georgian Civil Society Organizations: the Civil Society
\nInstitute (CSI), the Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), the Center for
\nStrategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and the Education
\nDevelopment and Employment Center (EDEC). The initiative is funded by the European
\nUnion and co-funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
