Together with local young leaders, Sabine
\nMachl, UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, First Deputy
\nState Representative to the Imereti Region, and Nino Tvaltvadze, Deputy Mayor
\nof Kutaisi Municipality, planted new trees at Kutaisi\u2019s Botanical Garden.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The event was officially opened by welcome
\nspeeches from Miss Machl, Mister Khakhaleishvili, Miss Tvaltvadze, Eka
\nLaliashvii, Chair of the Board of the Georgia Alliance for Safe Roads, Lika
\nKiladze, Chair of the Board of the Education Development and Employment Center,
\nand Esma Gumberidze, Georgia’s Youth Representative to the United Nations. The
\nlatter also gave a public lecture on Sustainable Development Goals and youth.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the event, the UN Resident
\nCoordinator in Georgia awarded the winners of the drawing contest and the quiz
\non the UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals with certificates and memorable
\ngifts.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n

The event was organized by Georgia
\nAlliance for Safe Roads and the Education Development and Employment Center
\nwith the support of the United Nations. The theme of this year\u2019s UN Week organized from
\nOctober 17 to 24 was “Global Goals Generation;” therefore, various
\nactivities are planned countrywide including the planting of 550 trees to
