The Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held the meeting with the representatives of the vocational education and training (VET) institutions within the framework of the EU-funded project “LEARN for Employment!”
The seven regional vocational colleges – “Iberia” (Imereti), “Horizon” (Guria), “Erkvani” (Racha-Lechkhumi – Kvemo Svaneti), “Gori State Teaching University” (Shida Kartli), “Gantiadi” (Shida Kartli), “Prestige” (Kakheti) and “Aisi” (Kakheti) – were presented at the online meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform the colleges about the project objectives, the activities planned within the project, and the opportunities for cooperation. Discussions were held on labor market needs in the regions, the modules of the vocational schools, and employment opportunities.
The EU-funded project “Learn, Exercise, Achieve, Receive, Network for Employment! (LEARN for Employment!)“ is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) in partnership with the Telavi Education Development and Employment Center (TEDEC), the Employment Agency of the Autonomous Region of Adjara (EAARA), the fund Abkhazintercont (AIC) and the Guria Youth Resource Center (GYRC).
Implemented in six regions of Georgia: Imereti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi, Adjara, Shida Kartli, and Kakheti, the 36-month project aims at promoting an efficient transition model from education to the labor market largely supporting increased employment, social integration, decreased poverty and vulnerability levels.
