Irina Korshia, a participant of the EU4Youth project, shares her skills and experience with the young women.
Within the project, Irina graduated from the Entrepreneurship School and benefited from the mentoring program for young entrepreneurs. The acquired knowledge helped her to better sell her products, expand her business and diversify the accessories.
Today Irina owns the leather accessories brand IRDA and shares her experience and skills with the youth.
“It is very important for me to teach handicraft to girls. I know from my own experience that learning this profession is related to many difficulties and there are many challenges. I am glad that I can give them useful advices and support them. At present I have 3 apprentices. I teach two of them within the “Apprenticeship Program” implemented by Danish Refugee Council (DRC). The teaching process is particularly enjoyable, interesting and entertaining. I hope I will make a significant contribution to the career development of the girls, ” – notes Irina Korshia.
The EU-funded project “EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine” was implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in 2018-2020. The project aimed to widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant participation in the community.
