Webinars about inclusive education were held for the representatives of Georgian universities

Seven online meetings (webinars) were held by the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and with the support of the Education Development and Employment Center, within the framework of the Curriculum Innovation for Social Inclusion (CISI) project.

The meetings aimed to raise awareness about inclusive education among the academic and administrative staff of the partner Georgian universities.

Representatives of foreign project partner universities shared the European experience of creating an inclusive environment with their Georgian counterparts. Online meetings were held for administration representatives and professors. During the meetings, organizing an inclusive and free environment at the university and methodology of teaching the students with disabilities and special educational needs were discussed.

 The Project is implemented with the involvement of several partner institutions, among them: 4 Georgian universities – Ivane Javakishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University (TeSaU), and Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU); 4 foreign universities – Transilvania University of Brașov UTBv, Univerzita Palackeho v Olomouc (PUO), University of Warsaw (UW) and Philipps-Universität Marburg (UMR); 3 NGOs working on the issues of the persons with disabilities – Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), “Mariani “ and DPO Movement Accessible Environment for Everyone (MAEE) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia (MoESCS).

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the process of social inclusion of persons with disabilities by increasing the quality of inclusive education at public schools in Georgia.
