A summary meeting was held within the framework of the project “Master of My House – Capacities to Confidence Building”

On December 2, in Batumi, the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held a summary meeting within the framework of the project “Master of My House – Capacities to Confidence Building”. The goal of the event was to introduce new services in the field of technical services in Georgia and present the activities and achieved results of the “housemaster” profession, also discussing the importance of vocational education and career orientation, and revealing the challenges in the housing sector.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of real estate companies operating in Georgia, vocational colleges, Batumi City Hall, the Employment Agency of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, non-governmental organizations, Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO e.V),  and other interested persons.

Lika Kiladze, chairperson of the board of the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), and Johann Strese, the project manager of the Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO e.V), addressed the audience. At the meeting, the German partners presented a career planning tool, “Berufsnavigator”.  Vladimer Vardosanidze, the chair of Urbanistics, at the Institute of Architecture spoke about the problems and challenges in the housing sector. At the end of the meeting, the participants summarized the important issues raised at the event in a question-and-answer mode.

The project “Master of My House – Capacities to Confidence Building” is being implemented by the Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO), Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), the Hanse Parliament and Charity Humanitarian Center Abkhazet (CHCA) with the financial support of Federal Foreign Office of Germany (AA). The project aims to the introduction of new dual vocational educations, services, and the profession of the so-called “Hausmaster” in Georgia in the field of technical services.
