On April 11, the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held a training for the organizing committee members in the City Hall of Ambrolauri Municipality. At the training, the parties selected the priorities and discussed the critical organizational issues, the knowledge of which is necessary during the planning and organization of the forums. They also got to know about the innovative model of participatory budgeting and citizen which will ensure the population in Baghdati, Dusheti, and Ambrolauri municipalities be involved in the formation of the 2024 budget. The training was led by Lika Kiladze, the chairman of the board of the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), and Natia Namichheishvili, the executive director of the same organization.
The project Fostering Decentralization and Good Governance at the Local Level in Georgia (DGG) is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) with the Financial support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to increase the role of citizen participation, especially of young people and women in the municipalities of Baghdati, Ambrolauri, and Dusheti, in the process of decision and local policy-making, by promoting open dialogue between citizens and decision-makers in local self-government and introducing an effective model of engagement.
