On May 18, a meeting dedicated to the UN Global Road Safety Week was held in the Kutaisi Municipality City Hall. Before the meeting, the members of the Kutaisi Youth Center studied certain sections of the city’s territory and shared with the decision-makers, Kutaisi Vice Mayor Tamar Dakhundaridze, Beka Kebuladze, the Chairman of the Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth Commission of the City Council, and Bakar Cheishvili, the representative of the Roads Department, about the infrastructural and transport challenges they saw from their side. They also discussed ways to solve them.
The main call of the 7th UN Global Road Safety Week is – #RethinkMobility, #StreetsForLife, which means increasing road safety by arranging infrastructure, creating sustainable transport, raising public awareness, reducing speed limits, improving the legal framework, administering the law and more.
The meeting was held in partnership with the “Georgian Alliance for Safe Roads”.
