We were very young, still schoolchildren when created the initiative group “Mello” and started thinking and working to create different opportunities for ourselves and for the youth in general. As a student, the desire to be a part of something worthwhile deepened even more. We did almost everything with our hands and moved forward slowly, although we organized small meetings, the start of a large-scale project was only possible through a small grant competition announced by the Center for Education Development and Employment.
The goal of the “Civil Activism School” project is to develop, strengthen, and actively involve young people in the ongoing processes in the country or region. We desire to create multi-faceted opportunities in the community, which in the long term will help diversify the monotonous routine and raise the standard of living for the local population.
At the very beginning of the project, we noticed how young people became interested and doubly motivated. We could see how they changed and developed, becoming more confident and open. These skills helped to present themselves better.
Each project participant believed in their power, realizing how many things they could change or start over.
“School of Civil Activism” has become an integral part of our lives, we can’t even imagine everyday life without this project.
