Daycare centers located in the Imereti region celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Beneficiaries of Terjola, Samtredia and Kutaisi daycare centers joined the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and participated in various events between the 2nd  and 4th of December. 

In the framework of the initiative “Let’s Play Together,” beneficiaries of Terjola daycare center “Sapovnela” participated in the integrated event at Terjola #1 public school. The event was organized by the U.S Peace Corps,  McLean Association for Children and The Fund for the Development of Tkibuli Region. 

Samtredia daycare center “Lampari” has often been visited by the Mayor of Samtredia Municipality and members of City Council. They gifted the beneficiaries with different presents.

Kutaisi Youth Center and McDonald’s celebrated the Day of Persons with Disabilities along with the beneficiaries of Kutaisi daycare center “Magic World.” The next day, the beneficiaries of the center visited McDonald’s. Later, thanks to the invitation of the Mayor of Kutaisi, beneficiaries attended the Creative Festival of Persons with Disabilities at Lado Meskhishvili State Drama Theater.

Kutiaisi Youth Center beneficiaries also visited the Puppet Theater on the 4th of December.

Such activities encourage constructive thinking of children and have a positive influence on their development. It is also crucial for their socialization and integration.

The Daycare Centers Program is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) with support from the Social Service Agency of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
