Conference on Road Safety was held in
Kutaisiю
On the 10th of May, the conference “Road
Safety” which aimed to create a platform for young leaders for sharing
their views on how to deal with the challenges related to road safety were held
in Kutaisi City Hall.
The following officials and representatives
spoke to the participants
- Lika Kiladze, Chairperson
of the Board of Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC); - Eka Laliashvili, Chairperson
of the Board of the Alliance for Safe Roads - Giorgi Chigvaria,
Mayor of Kutaisi; - Bakar Akubardia, Head
of Roads Department; - Beka Liluashvili, Dead
of the Analyze and Reform Division of Ministry of Internal Affairs
Furthermore,
ongoing and planned programs for Kutaisi to ensure safe transportation were
presented by Mirza Khidasheli, Deputy Head of Infrastructure Development,
Public Amenities, Transport and Waste Department of Kutaisi Municipality City
Hall. Irakli Tskhvediani, Head of the Transport Department, talked about transportation-related
activities in Kutaisi.
The conference was organized as
part of the annual UN Global Road Safety Week. In 2019, it was held from 6th
to12th of May. Ongoing activities are launched through the Save
Lives campaign.
The
Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) celebrates Road Safety Week
in partnership with the organization “Georgia Alliance for Safe
Roads” and the City Hall of Kutaisi Municipality. As part of the
activities, young leaders from Kutaisi were trained on road safety and the road
infrastructure of Kutaisi. They shared their new knowledge with peers and
children from kindergartens.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia supports
the initiative within the campaign #ForMoreLife.
