The project “Business School” is
over. Team unik2 won the final competition and was awarded 2 000 GEL by the
jury.
The winners, Ketevan Janelidze, Gigi
Kakoishvili, Demetre Kobeshavidze, Mariam Omanadze, and Mariam Sirbiladze, have
developed a public relations strategy for Kutaisi University. They were mentored
by Eka Pkhakadze, a journalist and a lecturer from Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli
State University.
The task of the PSP pharmacy team was to create
an educational online platform for pupils to raise awareness about healthcare,
hygiene, and beauty. With the help of their mentor David Zhorzholiani, a Social
Media Manager, they created the Facebook page “TeensCare”.
The Finca Bank team had to investigate the saving
culture among Kutaisi’s population and to promote the bank’s child saving
scheme. Nato Chelidze, the Fundraising Coordinator of Finca Bank, supported the
participants.
Just like unik2, group unik1 created a
public relations strategy for Kutaisi University. The mentor of the team was Ilia
Natsvaladze, Program Coordinator of UNAG in West Georgia.
Along with the winners, all teams were
awarded prizes by the project partners: PSP Pharmacy gifted hygienic products
to their team and mentor; Finca Bank opened saving accounts with a deposit of 100
Gel for their group members; the Education Development and Employment Center
(EDEC) awarded the team unik1 with symbolic gifts.
During the first phase of the Business
School, 60 pupils from high schools based in Kutaisi learned about Business
Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Resource Mobilization
and legal issues related to business activities. They also visited various
enterprises and were able to meet company representatives, familiarize with
production processes and ask questions.
Later on, 20 participants who moved on to
the second stage were split up into four groups to apply their gained knowledge
on the project partners’ real-life business cases. All teams got a professional
mentor to solve the specific task.
The Business School is a joint project of
the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and Kutaisi University
in partnership with “Finca Bank” and the pharmacy chain “PSP”.
