The final event of the sub-program “Vocational Training and Employment Promotion of People with Disabilities” was held by the Education Development and Employment Center and Employment Agency of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
The beneficiaries of the project, partners, representatives of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, City Hall, NGOs participated in the event.
Education Development and Employment Center have been implementing the targeted sub-program of Employment Agency of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara “Vocational Training and Employment Promotion of People with Disabilities” for eight months.
Within the frames of the project, 8 people with disabilities passed a 200-hour professional retraining course with the cooperation of vocational school “New Wave”, hotel “Hilton” and Furniture factory “Avangardi”.
The Graduates studied the art of culinary, confectionery, artistic processing of wood, human resource management, spa hosting, safety service professions.
Graduates were involved in the 120 hours’ internship program, which was implemented in the furniture factory “Avangardi”, social enterprise “Human in Action” and in the hotel “Hilton”.
After completing the course 6 people were employed, 4 of them – in the hotel “Hilton”: spa hosting, the assistant of human resource management assistant, cook, and porter, and two beneficiaries were employed in the social enterprise “Human in Action” at the position of a confectioner.
Graduates were given the certificates confirming the completion of the course at the final event.
The goal of the sub-program “Vocational Training and Employment Promotion of People with Disabilities” is to develop the vocational training course adapted for needs for the people with disabilities living in the territory of the autonomous republic of Adjara desiring to acquire/upgrade professional and practical skills, offering and assisting in employment.
