Kelly C. Degnan, new U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, held an
online meeting with members of USAID’s Promoting Integration, Tolerance, and
Awareness (PITA) program to discuss the U.S. Government’s assistance to Georgia
during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also talked about the importance of youth activism
in combating disinformation and hate speech related to the virus outbreak. After
the moderated discussion, a question-answer-session was held.
The event was organized as part of the (PITA) Civic Awareness and Integration
Support Program,
implemented by the United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG) with the
financial support of the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID). The Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) is a partner of
the program in Imereti.
