A training on “Safety rules for COVID-19 prevention” was held for participants of the dual education programs

Participants of the dual education programs in Samegrelo and
Shida Kartli had to manage the theoretical part of their courses online due to
the constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. After the removal of the
restrictions imposed by the Georgian government, practical sessions, and paid
internships resumed in person.

In order to ensure the safety of the participants, the
Education Development and Employment Center organized training on “Safety
Rules for the Prevention of COVID-19.” It was held online by Nino
Avaliani, Executive Director of the Kutaisi branch of the Red Cross Society. She
made recommendations to the audience on how to prevent the spread of the virus and
provided detailed, practical examples of safety rules.

The dual education programs are part of the EU-funded project
“EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in
Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine.” The initiative aims to
widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally
displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant
participation in the community. In Georgia, it is implemented by the Danish
Refugee Council (DRC) and the Education Development and Employment Center
(EDEC).
