Agricultural Consultant of Blueberry Cultivation were held in Samegrelo region

Within the Dual Vocational Education Programme, field works for the participants of short-term vocational training course in Agricultural Consultant of Blueberry Cultivation were held in Samegrelo region.

Fieldworks were held in the village Narazeni, at Nurgen Narsia’s farm. 6 future agricultural consultants participated in it. An experienced agronomist was supervising the procedure.

Participants provided the blueberry farm and the irrigation system planning within the works. They also gave recommendations to the farmer about the correct planning of the farm and irrigation system.

Within the program, Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) is partnering with the NNLE Georgian Blueberry Growers’ Association (GBGA), which provides theoretical learning at the agricultural resource center – AGROHOUSE. In Addition, the practical module of the program is provided at the farms of GBGA located in the villages of the Samegrelo region.

After completion of the course, the participant will be engaged in a 3-month paid internship at the farms of GBGA.

The program is implemented within the framework of the project “EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine”.

The project aims to widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant participation in the community.
