Kutaisi Youth Center representatives held an
informational meeting on January 28th for teachers and pupils at Ianeti Public
School. The meeting covered topics related to gender equality and Georgia’s
European integration.
Aim of the meeting was to raise awareness
among the participants on diverse topics like gender equality, risks connected
to early marriage, prevention of domestic violence, European values and the process
of European integration. 13 teachers and 36 pupils attended the session.
The informational event was led by young
people who had been earlier instructed by ToT trainers Demetre Kobeshavidze, Eka Jorbenadze, Tamuna Kimadze and Giorgi
Abesadze. They will be holding similar campaigns on domestic violence, early
marriage, as well as on European Integration in different parts of the country
until May 2019.
The informational meeting with pupils,
teachers, parents, and community leaders was held within the framework of the
Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness (PITA) program. The project is
implemented by the United Nations Association of Georgia (UNAG) with the
financial support of the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID). The Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) is partner of
the program.
