Children of Georgian veterans hosted Ukrainian peers

Supported by the Education Development and
Employment Center (EDEC), the Charity Fund “Alilo 2015” organized a
meeting in Kutaisi for children of Georgian veterans and of Ukrainian soldiers;
the visitors currently live in a conflict zone and their parents were or still
are involved in anti-terrorist operations.

A total of 20 Ukrainians arrived in Georgia
on July 16 as part of the project “Children Want Peace,”. which is
implemented by the Charity Fund “Alilo 2015” in partnership with the NGO
“Democratic Youth Development Center – Synergy.” They spent most of
their ten days in Adjara, became familiar with the historical and cultural
heritage, and visited the mountainous part of the region. On their day in
Kutaisi, the guests visited the Kutaisi State Historical Museum and Sataplia

The goal of the project is to promote peace in
Ukraine and in the world. It also aims to deepen public diplomacy between
Georgia and Ukraine, to encourage the friendship between children from both
countries and to support the rehabilitation process of minors traumatized by war.
