Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held a certification exam for the members of the short-term vocational training program – “Welding” – in cooperation with Public College Zugdidi Academy, on the premises of LTD Mankanatmshenebeli.
The certification aims to identify the professional and general skills of the program participants and to attract the interest of potential employers.
The certification exam was held in the imitated real environment. 8 program beneficiaries successfully completed the exam. All of them will be granted with 3-month paid internship.
The exam included the following parts:
• arrangement and equipment of working area according to the specific task;
• health and safety measures during welding works;
• usage of welding and cutting equipment and drawing application;
• welding base metal and construction structures.
The program is implemented within the framework of the project “EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine”.
The project aims to widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant participation in the community.
