The Speaker of the online meeting on the 7th of May 2020 was Mr.
Emzar Jgerenaia, representative of the organization „NOVA SOCIETAS“ and Full
Professor at Ilia State University. ‘Europe as a teacher,’ ‘Europe in the Georgian
press of the XIX. century’ and ‘European XX. Century’ were topics of the
lecture.
Members and mentors of Imereti’s civil school clubs, as well
as civic education teachers, took part in the meeting. As the times before, the
event took place in a question-answer format.
How Georgian intellectuals saw Europe, the state organization,
feminism, European politics with Georgian interpretations, Georgian-European
relations and so on – detailed analysis of these and other topics by Professor
Emzar Jgerenaia, interesting findings, and professionalism was not unnoticeable by
listeners, there was activity and positive assessments.
The program “Future Generation” aims to improve
the curriculum of civic education in schools. It also encourages pupils to
apply their theoretical education. It is supported by the Ministry of Education
and Science of Georgia and financed by the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID). In the Imereti region, the initiative is
implemented by PH International in partnership with the Education Development
and Employment Center (EDEC).
