The Education Development and Employment Center was more
than pleased to welcome Goderdzi Sharashia, journalist, TV presenter and
director, as a guest speaker at “Future Generation’s” online meeting for Imereti’s
partnering civil club.
As with other meetings of the conference series before, the event
was an active back and forth between the speaker and the audience with many relevant
questions and qualified answers. Amongst others, the following topics had been
discussed: the role of the state in supporting volunteering; opportunities for
youth volunteering; experience and history of volunteering in Georgia;
volunteer projects and activities; the role of the individual in society.
The program “Future Generation” aims to improve
the curriculum of civic education in schools. It also encourages pupils to
apply their theoretical education. It is supported by the Ministry of Education
and Science of Georgia and financed by the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID). In the Imereti region, the initiative is
implemented by PH International in partnership with the Education Development
and Employment Center (EDEC).
