As an NGO delegate with Consultative Status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lia Kiladze attended the 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), the United Nation’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The event took place from March 11-22, 2024, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The CSW significantly contributes to the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment issues worldwide, highlighting their recognition as a priority topic on the political agenda. The priority theme of the current year is “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.”
Representatives from member states, UN agencies, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations attended the session.
