Guram Okruashvili – The Participant of the Dual Vocational Education Program for Vet Technicians

Taking care of animals is Guram’s favorite activity, that is why he chose Veterinary as a profession and regularly works to improve his knowledge and professional skills through various vocational programs. 33 years old young veterinarian enrolled in the Dual Vocational Education Program for Vet Technicians in August 2020. The program helped him to increase his professional competence in this field.

At present, Guram is employed at the zoo shop Pets Store in Gori. The dual educational program equipped him with innovative practical skills and information, which in its turn, helped him to find a job.

Guram owns a dog and he perfectly understands the importance of the wellbeing and health of the favorite pet. He has experienced treating difficult patients as well, but luckily all such cases ended with the victory over death. Guram thinks that the profession of a vet has some difficulties, but according to him, everything that you do not know is difficult. Therefore, he intends to continue learning and developing his skills. Guram plans to increase his knowledge in vet surgery in the future.

Dual Vocational Education Program for Vet Technicians is implemented by Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) within the EU-funded project “EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine”.
