On the 30th of July, the Education Development
and Employment Center (EDEC) launched the new campaign “Introduce Your City”
at Kutaisi International Airport.

Volunteers mobilized on the bilateral
volunteerism platform TimeBank shared informative materials like maps and
brochures – provided by the Kutaisi Tourism Center –, as well as their personal
insights with people arriving at the airport. Along with the volunteers Natia
Namitcheishvili, EDEC’s Executive Director, and Nino Tvaltvadze, Deputy Mayor
of Kutaisi, welcomed the guests.

The new campaign aims to support tourism the potential of Kutaisi and change the town’s current situation of only being an
entry gate to Georgia due to the airport. The ambitious goal is to pursue arrivals
to stay in the city and become familiar with the historical and cultural
landmarks in and around Kutaisi.

At the same time, the initiative helps to promote
the bilateral volunteerism platform Time Bank as it is fully based on volunteers
and their resources like time, creativity, and skills; EDEC believes that
volunteerism is the core of strengthening the country’s civil society.
