On the 25th of May, outstanding civic education
teachers got awarded as part of the eighth Forum of Civic Education. The event,
which took place at the Tbilisi Exhibition Pavilion of ExpoGeorgia, also included
a national exhibition and a conference related to civic education.
Irina Abuladze, Deputy Minister of
Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, along with Adam Schmidt, Director of
the Democracy, Governance and Social Development office of USAID, National
Center of Teacher’s Development and PH international, was in charge of the
award ceremony.
Maka Kachkachishvili, working at Siktarva Village
School in the Terjola Municipality and at school “Progresi” in Kutaisi, was
announced as the best teacher in Imereti. Zviad Nikabadze, a civic education
teacher from Ilemi in the Zestaponi Municipality, became the best patron of civil
club. The title “Most Successful Teacher of the Year” was awarded to Nana
Margania from Vartsikhe in the Baghdati Municipality.
The event was held in the framework of the
program “Future Generation,” which is supported by the Ministry of Education
and Science of Georgia and financed by the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID). In the Imereti region, the initiative is
implemented by PH International in partnership with the Education Development
and Employment Center (EDEC).
