All 12 participants of the course mastered the theoretical
part of the hairdresser’s profession, which had to take place online due to the
current situation. While the theory was imparted by the Public College
“Gantiadi,” the practical training has recently started in the beauty
and aesthetics center “Beauty Art.”
After completion of the 300-hour course (theory and
practice), the participants will undergo a paid three-month internship at
various beauty salons in the Gori Municipality.
The dual education program is part of the EU-funded project
“EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in
Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine.” The initiative aims to
widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally
displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant
participation in the community. In Georgia, it is implemented by the Danish
Refugee Council (DRC) and the Education Development and Employment Center
(EDEC).
