On April 11th, 40 pupils from the Imereti
region visited the Cadets Military Lyceum within the framework of the Civic
Education Program “Future Generation”.
During the visit, pupils got familiar with the
admission requirements, the leaving and learning conditions of the Lyceum, as
well as its infrastructure. They were able to ask all their questions and received
detailed answers and additional information.
On the same day, the participants visited the
regional State Representative Governor’s Administration, where they met Zviad
Shalamberidze, First Deputy of the State Representative in Imereti. After an initial presentation about the institution’s work, the meeting ended with the
children’s questions.
The third destination of the day was the Public
Defender’s Office. Here, they learned about the Office’s cooperation with the central
and local government, how to find potential funds, and how to plan new collaborations.
The program “Future Generation”
aims to improve the curriculum of civic education in schools. It also
encourages pupils to apply their theoretical education. It is supported by the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and financed by the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID). In the Imereti region, the initiative
is implemented by PH International in partnership with the Education
Development and Employment Center (EDEC).
