Presentation of the new project “Master of My House, Master of My Future!” was held in Kutaisi

On September 18, 2018, a coalition of three NGOs (IWO e.V, EDEC, CHCA) launched a new project “Master of My House, Master of My Future!”.

The project aims to train internally displaced people (IDPs) as housemasters based on German experiences, so that they can work as in the profession for the settlement of IDPs in Georgia. The 8 participants of the project with the best results will travel to Germany to obtain knowledge about the legislative process and got familiar with the German model of the housemaster

The event was opened by Johann Shreze, the Director of  IWO (“Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe”). Mamuka Tsotniashvili, the Deputy Minister Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, underlined the importance of the project during his speech. Giorgi Iobashvili, the First Deputy Mayor of Kutaisi, also addressed the audience. 

The project leaders and invited speakers talked about the perspectives of vocational education in the housing sector: 

Dual Education Opportunities and Challenges – Darejan Losaberidze,  Quality Management Manager, Iberia Community College;

Housing Sector in Georgia and its Challenges – Napoleon Milorava, Executive Director, Charity Humanitarian Center Abkhazia (CHCA);

Educational Opportunities for Youth in the Housing Sector – Lika Kiladze, Chairperson of the Board, Education Development and Employment Center;

Representatives of the Government of Georgia and the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Kutaisi Self-Government, NGOs and IDPs have attended the event. 

The project “Master of My House, Master of My Future!” is implemented by the Charity Humanitarian Center “Abkhazeti” (CHCA) and the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). The project is financially supported by the Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO) and the European Education Center for Housing and Real Estate (EBZ). The project is also supported by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
