Professional training course for welders in Zugdidi continues with practical part

After successful provision of theoretical knowledge by the public
college “Zugdidi Academy,” the nine participants will now undergo the practical part at the partnering companies “Mankanatmshenebeli” Ltd and “Kalakmsheni”
Ltd. Following the 200-hour course, participants will enjoy a paid three-months
internship.

“I know that this is a required profession and I will
have the real chance to be employed. That’s why I decided to participate in
this course,” said Luka Shukaia, a beneficiary of the training.

The dual education program is part of the EU-funded project
“EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in
Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine.” The initiative aims to
widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally
displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant
participation in the community. In Georgia, it is implemented by the Danish
Refugee Council (DRC) and the Education Development and Employment Center
(EDEC).
