Program “Future Generation” – Imereti’s 2019-review held in February

On the 6th of February, the Education
Development and Employment Center (EDEC) organized a 2019-review for the program “Future Generation” in the Imereti region.

The event was opened by Natia
Namicheishvili, EDEC’s Executive Director, and Tamar Pruidze, official program representative.
In the following, Miss Namicheishvli and Maka Kachkachishvili, deputy of the Forum
of Civil Education Teachers in Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti, summarized
and presented the 2019-activities as well as their results.

Moreover, a panel discussion on “Cooperation
as the best opportunity of the civil education practical study” was held; Ilia
Kipshidze, leader of the civil club at Qvatsikhe Public School in the Chiatura
municipality led the panel. Additionally, a debate on early marriage took
place and the civil club “Art Skhivi” (Kutaisi Public School #36) performed a
play bullying.

The program “Future Generation”
aims to improve the curriculum of civic education in schools. It also
encourages pupils to apply their theoretical education in real-life situations.
It is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and
financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In
the Imereti region, the initiative is implemented by PH International in
partnership with the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC).
