Atinati, the Regional Civil Society Forum for Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti was held
on July 11 at the Zugdidi Tech. The aim was to present the activities of local CSOs
and to promote volunteerism.
Up to twenty local CSOs and participated in
the forum. During the event, guests were provided with the opportunity to
become familiar with the activities local CSOs are involved in. They also were
able to choose the activity considering their interests and skills and
voluntarily participate in it.
Throughout the event, guests had the chance
to get to know the bilateral volunteerism platform “Time Bank” as well as
up to twenty local CSOs. Next to the general presentation of the platform, the
TimeBank tent also attracted people with small giveaways and a challenging quiz
related to the culture of volunteering in Georgia.
Another quiz related to CSOs took place as
well, and the winners were awarded great prizes.
The forum was organized in the frame of the
project ”Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative.” It was developed
and is implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in
cooperation with four Georgian Civil Society Organizations: the Civil Society
Institute (CSI), the Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), the Center for
Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and the Education
Development and Employment Center (EDEC). The initiative is funded by the European
Union and co-funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
