On May 23, 2023, within the framework of the EU-supported “Civil Society STAR Initiative” project, the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and Kvemo Kartli regional hub – “Civil Integration Fund”, held a regional forum “Civil Society for the Development of Volunteering”.
The forum was attended by young people (high school students, students), volunteers, civil activists, teachers, representatives of local non-governmental and community organizations, self-governments, media, and various groups of society.
The purpose of the forum was to actively involve the youth of the Kvemo Kartli in solving the needs of the local community, promote the culture of volunteering and communication between volunteer organizations and persons interested in volunteering, and introduce the role and activities of youth councils. Also, increasing awareness and raising trust toward civil society organizations.
At the forum volunteer initiatives implemented in the Kvemo Kartli region were presented to the invited guests. Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of the products of local civil organizations was shown in a specially allocated space, where community and civil society organizations operating in the Kvemo Kartli region presented their activities and offered the opportunity to engage in volunteering to the young people interested in volunteering.
The forum was organized within the framework of the European Union (EU) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung funded project “Civil Society STAR Initiative: CSOs as Sustainable, Transparent, Accountable and Resilient Development Actors in Georgia“(2021-2025).
