Round table about supportive services for people with disabilities held in Ozurgeti

On the 18th of July, the Education Development
and Employment Center (EDEC) held a roundtable meeting in Ozurgeti, about support
services for people with disabilities. Here, the respective needs, problems,
and challenges were discussed.

Natia Namicheishvili, Executive Director of
the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), talked about the current
project and the topics to discuss. Ketevan Moistrapeshvili, Governor of Guria,
Konstantine Sharashenidze, Mayor of Ozurgeti municipality, and Teona
Julukhadze, the representative of ASB Georgia, greeted all participants and joined
the discussion.

Giga Sopromadze, Executive Secretary of the
Council working on People with Disabilities in Tbilisi City Hall talked about
their supportive services. Giorgi Alavidze, Member of the Board of the movement
Accessible Environment for Everyone presented the results of Europe
Foundation’s survey “Use of Public Finances for people with disabilities –
Inclusion and Participation.”

The discussion was held within the framework of the EU-funded project “Equal Opportunities for People with
Disabilities.” It is implemented by Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Georgia (ASB
Georgia) in cooperation with its partner organizations, the Education
Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and Accessible Environment for
Everyone.
