“Safety Rangers of Chkhorotsku Municipality Public Schools against Covid-19” presented by the initiative group Association for Agricultural Development is one of the winning initiatives of the Contest for Volunteering Initiatives announced by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) within the “Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” project.
The initiative aims to support the prevention of Covid-19 by training/retraining safety rangers in 20 public schools in Chkhorotsku Municipality.
Within the framework of the initiative, in cooperation with the National Food Agency, the employees of 20 public schools of Chkhorotsku Municipality, the future “Covid-19 Ranger” were trained. The trained Covid-19 Rangers delivered training about the rules and the ways to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) to the 642 representatives of the school community (administration, teachers, students, parents’ council).
A set of Covid-19 prevention rules for school cleaning personnel was developed. These rules were instructed to 15 cleaners from 20 schools in Chkhorotsku Municipality. A coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention corner was set up in all 20 target schools, and an information board was prepared with visual and written information about Covid-19 prevention measures.
In order to deal with the difficulties of online learning, 20 teachers from the target schools were trained in the techniques of using the electronic platform Teams within the framework of the initiative.
”Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” was developed and is implemented by the consortium lead by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with four Georgian Civil Society Organizations: Civil Society Institute (CSI), Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
