The certification exam of the participants of short term Cook Training Course was held in Zugdidi

On July 14, the certification exam of the participants of short term Cook Training Course was held in Zugdidi within the Dual Vocational Education Program of Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC).

The Training Program has 10 beneficiaries.

The aim of the Dual Vocational Education Program is to develop students’ skills and knowledge relevant to the professional qualification of the cook.

The exam took place on the premises of the Garden Palace hotel. The exam committee had an opportunity to evaluate the knowledge and skills of each program in the imitated working environment. The exam included the following components:

• creating dishes independently, safely, and timely;
• balancing taste and creativity;
• completing the design of the prepared dishes;
• correct ways of using the knife when working with the vegetables.

Graduates will be involved in a 3-month paid internship in different food facilities in the Samegrelo region.

The program is implemented within the framework of the project “EU4Youth – Enhancing Youth Education, Employment and Participation in Conflict-affected Areas in Georgia and Ukraine”.

The project aims to widen education, employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for internally displaced persons and conflict-affected youth and encourages their significant participation in the community.
