The study visit for representatives of day centers for children and persons with disabilities in Lithuania has ended.
Within the framework of the visit, the members of the delegation met with the representatives of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania and the Mayor of Svenčioni Municipality.
The members of the visit got acquainted with the peculiarities of the provision and organization of social services in Lithuania. Discussions were held around the challenges in the social sphere. The hosts shared examples of successful experiences with the guests.
Both family-type and community orphanages were visited.
They visited the traditional handicraft center where disabled children and persons are involved in therapeutic activities.
The study visit is carried out within the framework of the project “Learning from friends – professional exchange on the work with people with disabilities”, which is funded by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, from the funds of the Lithuanian Development Cooperation Program. The project is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC).
