On May 3, in Ambrolauri, at the Abkhazintercont (AIC) Office, the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held a training session for facilitators in the Ambrolauri Municipality City Hall. The goal of the meeting was to introduce the innovative model of participatory budgeting and inform the participants about the methodology of holding the forum. The training participants learned about important organizational issues when planning and organizing forums. The organizing committee selected the facilitators. Lika Kiladze, the chairperson of the board, and Natia Namichheishvili, the executive director of EDEC chaired the meeting.
The project Fostering Decentralization and Good Governance at the Local Level in Georgia (DGG) is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) with the Financial support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to increase the role of citizen participation, especially of young people and women in the municipalities of Baghdati, Ambrolauri, and Dusheti, in the process of decision and local policy-making, by promoting open dialogue between citizens and decision-makers in local self-government and introducing an effective model of engagement.
