The project “Franklin Academy: Rustavi Stream” itself involves raising the awareness of young people living in Rustavi on various important issues, such as the economy, debates, political ideologies, law, media literacy, and international relations. We lack discussion on the listed issues in the society around us, and we believe that the elimination of this problem is the main goal of the project.
The members of the initiative group decided to write a project that we wanted to implement for a long time. In Rustavi, we saw the potential of how the young people living here could use the knowledge and experience that the academy provides. This project would not have been possible without the support of the Franklin Club lecturers. Thanks to them and of course the EDEC team, no question was left unanswered. As a result, we received dozens of students for whom attending the Rustavi Franklin Academy became a motivation to improve their knowledge.
It is exciting to see and observe how the young people involved in the project study discover themselves and are interested in various issues. One month seems like a short time, however, at the end of all three streams, the growth of children was felt, even in debates and public conversations; They could analyze economic issues more deeply and ask more thorough questions. I believe that the knowledge that the participants received during the course will be advantageous in the implementation of many other projects.
The experience gained by participating in the project encouraged the project participants to set bigger goals for the future. I believe that it is with such projects that we can make education fun, inclusive, and equally accessible to everyone.
