The winning project from Guria

The Curie Laboratory’s goal is to make science accessible to all, particularly the children in the region. Additionally, we aim to encourage young girls to take an interest in STEM. – Marika Tsintsadze, founder of Curie Laboratory

As part of our “Ambassadors of Science” initiative, we aimed to expand our volunteer activity by hosting a competition. We provided training to five senior girls from Khulo school, equipping them with science boxes containing all the necessary resources for conducting experiments. During the training session, we gave detailed instructions on the methodology of conducting tests, as well as an overview of current chemical and physical processes.

The participants also learned how to build simple electrical circuits using Arduino elements and create interesting presentations using AI technology. Our ultimate goal is for these ambassadors of science to conduct the same experiments in their schools using the scientific boxes and share the knowledge they gain with others, spreading awareness about the importance of science and technology. This project helped us reach even more children, giving them direct access to science and experiments and bringing us one step closer to our goal of spreading science education across the whole of Georgia. We have also acquired a valuable new resource that will allow us to conduct even more scientific workshops in the future.
