The winning project from Kvemo Kartli

“The project aimed to address the existing problems in the municipality of Tsalka: protecting animals and improving the quality of education.” –  Mariam Eloshvili, Head of the Initiative Group of Bareti Public School

“The project “Development of Volunteering Culture in Tsalka” was implemented by the initiative group operating in Bareti Public School. The idea of participating in the small grant competition announced by the Education Development and Employment Center stemmed from the desire to tackle three important problems facing the youth in Tsalka – animal protection, quality of education, and cultural events. Within the framework of the project, the members of Bareti Public School’s initiative group launched volunteer campaigns for the protection of domestic animals.

The goal of the project was to contribute to the solution of two important problems in Tsalka municipality: animal protection and quality of education. We connected non-governmental organizations, companies, and young people of Tsalka municipality, providing them with information about volunteering and the volunteering digital platform www.volunteer.ge. Organizations volunteered the youth of Tsalka according to their areas of interest. As a result of the project, young people will identify their professional interests and evaluate their professional interests. Finding the right profession is important for young people as in the future they will enjoy learning, which in turn will affect the quality of education. With the project, we aimed to make the community realize that the problems in Tsalka can be solved by raising the volunteering culture, and by communicating with private and public organizations in Tsalka and Tsalka’s youth.

The initiative group of Bareti Public School extends its gratitude to the organizations involved in the project and to each young person for their contribution to the development of Tsalka.”
