Volunteering month in Gori municipality

The Gori municipality has a strong tradition of encouraging volunteering, especially among young people. Many young individuals in the community take the lead in organizing camps, projects, and other activities to support and socialize with their peers.

Our team consists of experienced individuals who guide the progress of other young people, as well as those who are new to volunteering. The volunteering camp and grant-funded project have provided us with valuable practical and theoretical knowledge on personal and community development through volunteering. During the project, we conducted important activities such as visiting a daycare center, bringing board games and books for the children, and spending quality time with them.

Additionally, we organized training sessions on volunteering to help others understand its essence, importance, and purpose. This included educating participants about the law on volunteering, exchange programs, and the significance of volunteering in the European Union. Ultimately, the “Volunteering Month in Gori Municipality” project has not only increased our own understanding but also enabled us to raise awareness about volunteering and its benefits among other young people in the community.

The project “Volunteering month in Gori Municipality” is implemented with the support of the Education Development and Employment Center within the framework of the European Union (EU) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung funded project “Civil Society STAR Initiative.”
The project is implemented by a consortium led by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) together with the following non-governmental organizations – Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Civil Society Institute (CSI), Counseling and Training Center (CTC), Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) and European Institute of Policy (IEP).
