On December 5, 2022, with the support of the European Union, the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), in connection with the International Day of Volunteering, held an exhibition, in Kutaisi, in which young people (high school students, students), volunteers, teachers, representatives of the media and various groups of society and other interested persons participated.
The goal of the event was to promote the volunteering culture and increase community involvement in volunteering activities. Also, informing young people about the first electronic platform in Georgia – www.volunteer.ge.
The best volunteering initiatives published on social media by the digital platform www.volunteer.ge were presented at the exhibition. In parallel with the exhibition, volunteers carried out symbolic environmental care activities (cleaning action, planting trees, painting pictures on the topic of environmental care, etc.) and once again called on young people to take concrete actions to preserve the environment and natural resources.
The event was held within the framework of the European Union (EU) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) funded project “Civil Society STAR Initiative: Sustainable, Transparent and Accountable Civil society Organizations (CSOs) for the Development of Georgia” (2021-2025).
