In Kakheti, within the framework of the EU-funded project: “Learn for employment” the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC) held a workshop on the topic “Intersectoral cooperation for employment”, the goal of the meeting was to discuss the problems in the employment sector and ways to improve the situation. High-ranking leaders from central and local governmental organizations, local and international non-governmental organizations, and the Parliament of Georgia participated in the meeting.
In the first part of the meeting, the participants discussed the challenges and opportunities of the labor market, the state employment policy, and the current situation in terms of providing intermediary services.
The second part was devoted to discussing the role of vocational education and career orientation services for employment, presenting the German career planning tool “Navigator” and the innovative management model of the vocational education system.
And in the third part, the participants discussed the importance of coordination and social dialogue for employment promotion. Also, the Employment Agency of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara presented the practice of the labor market development coordination (advisory) council.
The project “Learn, Exercise, Achieve, Receive, Network for Employment! (LEARN for Employment!)“ is implemented by the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), the Telavi Education Development and Employment Center (TEDEC), the Employment Agency of the Autonomous Region of Adjara (EAARA), Abkhazintercont (AIC) and the Guria Youth Resource Center (GYRC).
